8 Ways To Get More Inquiries And Bookings This Spring

Calling all online travel advisor who want to make this your most profitable quarter. Here are 8 proven strategies for getting more visible on social media so more people inquire and book. Summer is just around the corner, after all!

Steal these scroll-stopping hooks and post 2 Reels per week

Pair each hook with a 10-second clip from your camera roll — your last vacation or FAM, sipping coffee at your kitchen window, flipping through a travel magazine, etc.

  • Why I love recommending [resort] to clients for [honeymoons]
  • Why my clients love planning their [Disney trips] with me
  • Before you book that trip to [Cancun], read this...
  • Top tip for travel that I am totally obsessed with: [insert travel tip]
  • Here's what nobody tells you about booking a cruise...

Steal these engaging post prompts to post twice a week about what you’re working on

People need to see that you’re busy and already have a roster of clients who trust you. It’s also an opportunity to inspire them with trip ideas they can book with you.

  • Check out this AWESOME trip I recently planned
  • I just had one of the wildest conversations with a new client
  • New month, new trips! Here’s what I have pencilled into the travel schedule so far: [Insert 2-3 trips you have planned]
  • Next stop, [insert destination your clients are visiting next]
  • Want a little peek at the itinerary I’m working on today?

Add carousels to your Instagram content mix

Carousels are a GREAT way to get people saving and coming back to your content. It’s also the only type of Instagram post that gets shown in the feed twice. Throw in 2 carousels a week to your content mix. Steal these 4 hooks for the first slide in your carousels.

  • “Here’s what most people don’t consider when they plan their trips themselves”
  • “3 epic trips my clients are taking this summer”
  • “5 things to double-check before you book that summer [couples/family] trip”
  • “Here’s what to eat, see, and do in [insert destination]”

Send a DM to 10 local businesses to ask about their Spring and summer promotions

You’ll use this as an opportunity to build connection and trust and keep your own business top of mind. Make sure you’re following them then send this DM:

“Hi [name], happy Spring! I wondered if you have any Spring promos coming up? I would love to share them with my clients and local network here in [insert your city].”

When they share their promo, respond with this: “Thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely spread the word. I’m currently planning trips for clients for summer break. If you can think of anyone looking for a local travel planner, I would love it if you sent them my way. 🙏”

Use IG/Facebook Story to collect prospects for summer trips

Use the engagement stickers to spark conversation and to see who’s considering a summer trip then follow up with an invite to book a call and chat. Post your Stories in sets of 3 so they have a beginning, middle, and end.

Story 1: The Setup (Beginning)

Talk about what you’re currently planning for clients. “Summer is just around the corner; here’s what I’m planning for my clients”

Story 2: Get the Audience To Engage (Middle)

I’m curious, which of my client trips would you take?” *Note: Insert a poll sticker with the trip options.

Story 3: Spark conversation (End)

“And by the way, my door is always open. Ask me anything about [summer trips to Mexico/the best summer couples getaways.” *Note: Use the question sticker to collect responses.

Go live in a local Facebook group and share tips for summer travel

Contact the group admin and offer to go live, sharing seasonal travel tips, trip ideas, etc. The live stream should be focused on providing value, education, and expertise, not necessarily as travel agents promotion directly. Inquiries and bookings will come as a natural result of positioning yourself as a trusted local expert on travel.

Share niched-down summer travel ideas

Niching down, even if it’s just for a little bit, will help your marketing be more focused and infinitely more effective.

Pick one of your client segments (couples, families, wellness lovers) and spend a week sharing content and inspiration specifically for them in your feed.

Layer on content in your Stories that invites them to interact, ask questions and book a call.

Find potential clients using local hashtags

Adding local hashtags to your posts is a great way to reach potential local clients, but I love this hashtag trick even more.

Make a list of 5 local hashtags that are either general (#Austin #AustinTX) or niched down (#AustinYogis #Austinfoodies), then search those hashtags using the IG search bar, and interact with the latest posts from people who look like your ideal client.

These 8 strategies may be a little bit outside of your comfort zone, but big results come from bigger risks and stepping out of your comfort zone. Good luck this month!
